Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before using the Jotfi app. By downloading or using Jotfi, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Use of the app
Jotfi is a personal expense tracking tool designed to help you log and review your spending. You may use the app only for lawful, personal, and non-commercial purposes. You agree not to misuse the app or attempt to interfere with its operation.
2. No financial advice
Jotfi is a recording tool only. Nothing in the app constitutes financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. Any spending data you enter is entirely self-reported. We make no representations about the accuracy or completeness of any figures displayed. You should consult a qualified professional for financial guidance.
3. Subscriptions (Jotfi Pro)
Jotfi offers an optional paid subscription called Jotfi Pro, available on a monthly or annual basis. Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement.
- Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancellation: You can cancel at any time through your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Pro access until then.
- Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their policies. We do not process refunds directly.
- Free features: Core functionality remains free. Pro features are clearly indicated within the app.
4. Your data
All expense data you enter (amounts, notes, tags) is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party. We do collect anonymised analytics and session recordings via PostHog to improve the app — this does not include the content of your expense entries. For full details, please see our Privacy Policy.
5. Intellectual property
All content, design, and code within Jotfi — including the name, logo, and user interface — is the property of Jotfi and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
Jotfi is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for your particular purpose. Use of the app is at your own risk.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jotfi and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the app, including any loss of data. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for a Jotfi Pro subscription in the three months preceding the claim.
8. Third-party services
Jotfi uses the following third-party services:
- RevenueCat — manages in-app subscription purchases. Subject to the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
- PostHog — provides anonymised analytics and session recording to help us improve the app. Expense entry content is never captured. Subject to the PostHog Privacy Policy.
Your use of in-app purchases is also subject to Apple's terms of service. We are not responsible for the independent practices of these third-party services.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the app shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
